UNIVEG Bulgaria is a member of the international UNIVEG Group, worldwide leader in supplies of fresh produce. The Group is active in fruit and vegetables, flowers and plants, convenience and transport and logistics.

History

The company was established during 1987 as a family business by the owner Hein Deprez. In 1983 Hein Deprez started a mushroom farm limiting the activity to production and sale. In a later stage, he started adding 'added value services' for the customer, such as mushroom cleaning, cutting and special packaging.

During that period, he signed his first long term contracts with the big retailers, and set the base for the future development of the company.

25 years later, the Group still follows that same philosophy of adding service to the customer, aiming at responding to the changing needs of the client, leading itself by innovative solutions.

Univeg in Bulgaria

UNIVEG BULGARIA EOOD was incorporated in May 2006. The headquarters are based in Musachevo, Elin Pelin Municipality (Sofia Region). Currently, there are 100 employees working. UNIVEG Bulgaria operates as a Logistics Service Provider for retailers, convenience outlets and producers.

The focus is on food products (requiring temperature): F&V, Dairy, Packed Meat, Frozen, Chocolate

The offer consist of a temperature controlled distribution center, designed for cross-dock and storage operations. Univeg performs reception, quantity control, put-away, order-picking, labeling storage, empties management and transport. UNIVEG Bulgaria is currently not active in Trade of Fruits & Vegetables, nor in Flowers and Convenience.

Award

UNIVEG Bulgaria was granted the 2010 Primus Inter Pares Award by the BBL BC, as a recognition for UNIVEG's ability to securing sustainability in its business.
