Brief presentation

The Cordeel group of companies with headquarters in Temse (Belgium) is a 100% family owned general contractor with a consolidated yearly turnover of 275 million euro, employing more than 800 people. The company was founded in 1934 by Mr. Ghislain Cordeel and has been growing continuously, Cordeel is active in all kind of construction projects: industrial buildings for logistic or production proposes, offices, utility buildings (hospitals, schools, public buildings, etc), renovation of existing buildings and civil engineering. Turnkey design and build projects are among the s pecialities of the Cordeel group. The company has branch offices in Belgium (Hoeselt and Liege), the Netherlands (Cordeel Nederland bv with offices in Zwijndrecht, Axel and Vlissingen), France (Baticor in Lille), Germany (Cordeel GmbH in Aachen) and Bulgaria (Cordeel Bulgaria in Sofia).

15 years in Bulgaria

Cordeel started it’s business in Bulgaria more then 15 years ago as shareholder in a local construction company in Sofia. As the economy and business opportunities in Bulgaria have been rising since then, Cordeel was ready to setup a fully owned subsidiary in Bulgaria, Cordeel Bulgaria Ltd was founded in 1999 as a 100% daughter company from the Cordeel Group of companies. Now Cordeel Bulgaria Ltd has a yearly turnover of 9,75 million euro and is employing in Sofia a team of 75 fulltime labourers and a staff of 12 administrative employees mainly engineers.

Western European Standards

Cordeel is active on the Bulgarian market as general contractor for residential, commercial and industrial buildings. Some of these projects are contracted as a “design and build” projects, engineered at the headquarters of Cordeel in Belgium in close coordination with the local branch office in Sofia. In this way Cordeel can guarantee the client a product which is corresponding to the European requirements and specifications in harmony with the local regulations and standards. Cordeel applies for all permits, constructs the building turnkey and hands over a fully operational facility. There are projects which are among the most important facilities ever been build in Bulgaria and are completely designed according the highest Western European standards like ESFR sprinklers, storage up to 10.50m, high tolerance floors, high insulation value, modern loading dock equipment, flexible air conditioning system, etc.

Warehouse projects

A speciality of the Cordeel group is the design and construction of production and warehouse projects for the food processing and car industry and the design of warehouses for storage of hazardous projects. Based upon the big experience in this matter collected over the last decades in Belgium and the Netherlands and after the entry of Bulgaria in the European Union, Cordeel is anticipating an important growth of it’s business on the Bulgarian market, being the design and build construction partner for foreign and local investors.

Quality Management System

As a proof of this is the fact that from March 2009 Cordeel Bulgaria has installed and applies a quality management system with scope of supply "e;Organization of design. General construction of buildings and construction equipment"e; which correspond of standard BDS EN ISO 9001 : 2001 as the membership of the company in Bulgarian Construction Chamber from July 2009.
